From Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society:

This is an interesting reprint of a rare little book published in 1737, a year after the death of the writer, who died at sea and is described on the original title-page as having been a midshipman on board the Salisbury and afterwards lieutenant of the Victory frigate, Fame gally, and Revenge grab, part of the squadron employed by the East India Company to attack the pirate Angria, and also for some time an engineer in the service of the great Mogul.

Contents:

A Succinct History of the Indian Wars; with an Account of the Rise, Progress, Strength and Forces of Angria the Pyrate

A Particular Account of all the Transactions in the Voyage of Commodore Matthews to the East Indies; with the Lyon, Salisbury, Exeter, and Shoreham: sent thither to suppress the Pyrates

An Additional History of the Indian Wars, betwixt the Great Mogul, and Angria and his Allies; to which is prefix’d a Particular Account of John Plantain, a Pyrate; also a Brief Relation of Plantain’s Wars on the Island of Madagascar
