About the author :

Han Suyin is well-known in the region for her books, especially And the Rain My Drink and A Many-Splendored thing. She helped set up Singapore’s Nanyang University, and was invited by Lin Yutang to teach there. While she was in Singapore/Malaya, she was married to Leon Comber, a British officer in the Malayan Special Branch, himself an author of many informative non-fiction books on the region.
