The adventures of an English boy, Thomas Dubois, on the high seas, sailing from Calcutta to Penang to Singapore. Told in the style of kids adventure stories, with lots of casual racism thrown in, as was the style back in the day. Not recommended for children, more of a historical curiosity that describes the sights and sounds of Singapore from a colonial perspective.
