A long poem by award-winning writer Martyn Skinner, Vols 3 and 4 of a five-volume set, each volume having been published independently of each other. These poems were written to his friend Alexander Nowell of Ipoh. Very little of the poems is actually about Malaya.
Review from dust jacket:
” ‘Letters to Malaya’ is a brilliant and powerful poem, and no quotations can give an idea of its engaging discursiveness, its flexibility, its light and shade and the consistent skill with which its varying moods are managed. The author is at once a poet, a wit and a sagacious commentator. The letters are cast into the form of an imaginary dialogue between the two friends, and the warmth of that friendship delicately suffuses the whole work.” – Gerrald Bullett in Reynold News.
