A plan of Jakarta (Batavia) during the siege of 1629, a military campaign led by Sultan Agung of Mataram to capture the Dutch port-settlement of Batavia in Java.
This plan of Batavia was published circa 1754, and was drawn by French geographer Jacques Nicolas Bellin, one of the most renowned mapmakers of the time. This map was probably taken from Prevost’s Histoire générale des voyages, published between 1746-1759.
