An interesting travel guide on Rangoon, published in Burma during the time of the Union of Burma (1948). This was before Burma went through military rule. The guide, aside from being a nice keepsake from that era, gives a good overview of Burmese arts, architecture, culture and religion, illustrated with black-and-white photographs. Also interesting is a series of advertisements at the back of the book, showing Burma’s post-war recovery.
