Nigel Heyward was an alumnus of the University of Tasmania, majoring in history and English and worked as a teacher in Sarawak (Malaysia) for 22 years. After returning to Tasmania he was warden of Christ College from 1982 to 1987. Nigel Heyward passed away in December 2014.
