A comprehensive, well-researched guidebook to Palestine (including what is present-day Israel) by a Jewish immigrant into Palestine, who later served in the Israel Defense Forces. This guidebook is targeted towards a Jewish audience, and is intended not only as a travel guide but also a general reference book containing population distributions, geology, water conditions, and economic life. It also contains maps, routes, and plans, including a large foldout map of Palestine in the back pockets, and descriptions of archaeological sites of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions. Appended to the back is an interesting catalogue of hotels, banks, and some advertisements. An invaluable look into the actual social landscape of Palestine at the time, with plenty of background information and trivia to add colour and life to the descriptions.
