Condition: Tooled silver cover, leather to spine and back cover. A miniature book that fits in the palm of your hand. Very good condition. Rose-gold gilt to edges, with a slight stain to top edge. Back hinge cracked but binding still firm. Slightly foxed endpapers with inscription. Pinkish hue in the photographs due to reflection; the book itself is silver. A lovely miniature book will a pictorial tooled silver front cover, depicting a horse-drawn carriage, a woman, a child, and a forested backdrop with a tower. Spine and back cover are bound in limp leather. Rounded corners and bright gilt to all edges, gold with a reddish tint (possibly rose gold?). Slight staining on gilt on the top edge. Foxed light green marbled endpapers and an inscription to ffep.

The pages are arranged according to the date, with pages on the left-hand side containing quotations and poems, to accompany blank lines on the right-hand side, meant for the owner to fill in. This particular copy has only two owner’s entries we can find. Poets quoted include Walter Scott, Thomas Moore, Felicia Hemans, Byron, Milton, and other English poets.
