A fascinating religious textbook from the mid-18th century, during a time when religion and science were not considered separate domains. The book contains questions and answers on the various books of the New Testament, with copious footnotes, and a supplement at the back which contains an explanation of time, space, chronology, rain and clouds, astronomy and other matters of science. The supplement describes the calendars used by the Chaldeans, Egyptians, Babylonians, Romans and others, how Corpenicus derived his theories from Pythagoras, and that the Greek philosophers derived their knowledge from Egypt. Hades, Gog and Magog, the Turks and Isaac Newton also make an appearance in this delightful read.
